College Draft Profile: Kyle McGowin

Kyle McGowin, RHP, Savannah State University

Class: Junior; Height: 6-3; Weight: 180

Updated: 06/03/13

McGowin turned in a dominant 2013, throwing 120.1 innings while averaging an impressive 10.10 K/9 and just 2.24 BB/9 with a tidy 2.02 ERA.

Projection: McGowin’s likely to be the highest player picked from Savannah State. And while his numbers are certainly impressive, the level of competition has to be taken into account. He does, however, rank in the top 30 K-rate among DI players. He’s a very, very tough read. For now, though, he looks like a #4/#5-type guy.

Ceiling: 1.0- to 1.5-win player

Likelihood of Reaching His Ceiling: Low to Moderate

Drafted: Fourth or Fifth Round
